What is Simba Pay?

Simba Pay is a payment platform built for Zimbabwe, combining a personal wallet, business payment tools and developer payment infrastructure in one platform. You can use it for everyday payments, accept payments as a business, or connect payment functionality to your own application.

Is Simba Pay free for personal users?

Yes. Personal wallet users can use Simba Pay without a monthly subscription or transaction commission. Business and developer accounts use a transaction-based model where Simba Pay earns a commission on applicable payment activity.

How does Simba Pay make money?

Personal wallet usage is free. For merchants, businesses and developers, Simba Pay uses a transaction-based model, earning a commission when applicable payments are processed through the platform. There is no need to charge every user a monthly subscription.

Which payment methods can Simba Pay connect to?

Simba Pay is designed to connect multiple payment rails through one platform. Planned and supported integrations can include Zimbabwean services such as Paynow and OneMoney, alongside selected African payment providers and mobile-money networks. Availability depends on the specific integration, country, provider and applicable authorization.

Can I use Simba Pay with Paynow?

Paynow is one of the Zimbabwean payment integrations Simba Pay is designed to support. The exact payment methods and transaction flows available through the integration depend on the Paynow integration and the services enabled for your account.

Can I use Simba Pay with OneMoney?

OneMoney can be supported as a payment rail within Simba Pay's orchestration model, subject to the applicable technical integration, commercial arrangement and authorization. Availability will be shown when the integration is enabled.

Can Simba Pay connect to payment providers outside Zimbabwe?

Yes. Simba Pay is designed with a provider abstraction layer so additional African payment providers and payment methods can be connected without requiring every application to build a separate integration. Supported countries, currencies and payment methods vary by provider.

Can businesses accept payments through Simba Pay?

Yes. Business accounts can use payment collection tools such as payment links, invoices, QR payment flows, hosted checkout and transaction management, depending on the payment rails available to the business.

Can developers integrate Simba Pay into their applications?

Yes. Developers can integrate Simba Pay through its payment API and use features such as payment creation, payment status, webhooks, idempotency and API logs. The goal is to provide one integration layer instead of requiring an application to build every payment-provider integration separately.
